Beatport, one of the leading digital platforms for selling electronic music, is once again expanding their genre tag section. For the last couple of years, Beatport was battling with getting tracks in the right genre category and they’ve had a lot of difficulties doing that. The first step towards improving this problem was to establish a team of DJ’s, label owners and A&R’s that helped sorting tracks in the right genre categories. In March earlier this year, we’ve already written about the genre’s expansion (read more HERE) which was positively accepted amongst their users. The latest update will include a newly established “Afro House” genre category. This style is slowly taking over the electronic music scene with a mixture of deeper vibes and organic, African influenced grooves. Dixon, Black Coffee, Henrik Schwartz are just some of the worldwide known DJ’s that are currently dominating this style.
