Manu Gonzalez to release EP on Decay Records

Spanish producer & DJ Manu Gonzalez will soon be releasing a new EP on London based Decay Records. Manu is one of those lucky musicians that were born on the magical Ibiza island which opened many doors for him. He’s regularly performing at what most people consider to be the best clubs in the world such as Ushuaia, Hi Ibiza or Pacha to name a few, as well as releasing music on imprints like Moon Harbour and Knee Deep In Sound. His next release is a four-track EP that includes two originals and a pair of remixes from Spanish colleagues Hanfry Martinez and Javier Carballo.

“Manu Gonzalez – Underground or Not EP”

The same-titled opening tune brings out dance-floor ready grooves with stompy bass-line and swingy rhythm. Dubby pads and percussions are nicely lined with vocal shots. Hanfry Martinez remixed the first original tune on the package. He stripped down the original but kept the similar vibe and idea. He successfully added clean organic elements and glitchy synth melodies which surrounded vocal cuts perfectly.

“Hipnosis” is the second original on the release and it brings out a casual house groove with techy elements. Stabby bass pattern makes the low end phat and groovy while plucks and of-snare drums give this tune a solid drive. On the other side, Canary Islands native Javier Carballo delivers strong groove mixed with hypnotic arpeggios, evolving atmospheres and shuffling rhythms in his remix of the original record.

This EP contains four dance-floor-ready tunes that can easily be played either on warm up, peak time or closing slot. “Underground or Not” will be released on 22nd December via Decay Records.
